Scientific Instruments Show in Osaka 2007
October 17-19, 2007, Osaka, Japan

Reported by Michihito Matsuura, Marketing Department

Osaka is to the West of Japan what Tokyo is to the East. This year, from October 17 to 19, the Scientific Instruments Show was held at INTEX Osaka alongside Powtex, which was held from October 16 to 19. The show featured 215 exhibitors who showed off various scientific and laboratory instruments.:

At A&D's booth, the featured products were the recently released SV-A series (SV-1A & SV-10A) and FX-iWP series (FX-120iWP/200iWP/300iWP/1200iWP/200iWP/3000iWP). The SV-1A allows viscosity measurement with as little as 2ml sample fluid, compared with the 10 ~ 45ml requirement for the conventional SV-10. The SV-A series is very good news for those who need to measure the viscosity of either expensive or rare substances such as organic photoreceptors and human blood. Furthermore, both the SV-1A and the SV-10A can be used as a portable viscometer for field research by detaching the sensor unit from the stand.

The FX-iWP series boasts its IP65 compliant protection against liquid and dust, an accomplishment no brand other than A&D has achieved with 1mg (or even 10mg) weighing sensitivity. Obviously, the advantage of this feature is greatest in environments that are filled with fine particles or oil mist (e.g. pharmaceutical laboratories, factories where lubricants are used, etc.).

In just three days, more than 41,000 people attended the Scientific Instruments Show in Osaka and there were more than 200 visitors at our booth. The show will be back and is scheduled to be held in Tokyo next year.
