A&D's MX-50 moisture analyzer

OTABE Co., Ltd., Kyoto based Japanese confectionery company, famous for cinnamonflavored Japanese cakes called "Yatsuhashi" whose sales volume is JY4,100M, hasrecently purchased 7 MXs to replace its SD-30. SD-30, employing infrared heating method, is a moisture analyzer from Sanko Electronic Laboratory Co., Ltd. and OTABE Co., Ltd. were using it to measure moisture content of fresh made cookies off their production line.

OTABE Co. Ltd, had, more or less, concluded that they could not measure correct moisture contents with any type of moisture analyzers available in the market. In fact, the moisture analyzers they were using could not give them correct and stable data.

What do you think they were doing in order to decide whether those cookies were defective or not each time the moisture analyzers indicated abnormal values of moisture contents? They were eating their cookies!!! And to make matters worse, the production continued while they were eating cookies and in consequence, making lots of product losses.

This is exactly the sort of customer who should buy MX. We persuaded them that they would be able to measure moisture contents as accurately as 0.01% (S.D.) andin a very short time, showing them our sample data. In the end, we cured their skepticism of moisture analyzers.

Finally, OTABE Co. Ltd., is now able to maintain quality control very effectively and reduce the production cost dramatically by using MX. But you know who feels really happy after MX introduction to the production line? That is the person in charge of moisture content control at the factory who had to sample endless batches of cookies. He said, After starting to use MX, I don't have to eat cookies anymore. In addition to that, MX has brought back household harmony because I am more open-minded now to my family, allowing them to buy cookies to eat at home any time.
