SV-10 Lubricant Viscosity Measurement

Lubricant oil is very important to keep engines or mechanical machines in good working condition.
Mr. Brian Johnston, the Branch Manager of Sydney office of A&D Mercury in Australia invited some customers who wanted to measure the viscosity of lubricants.
Mr. Trevor Huteau, Principal Chemist ・Lubrication Consultant of Rail Infrastructure Corporation, who has been working with lubricants and oil for more than 30 years came to see our demonstration and brought some sample lubricants with him. He has been looking for a viscometer that is simple to use and easy to clean, because at his laboratory they have to measure the viscosity of many samples of lubricants every day.
We measured the sample lubricants that Mr. Huteau brought with him. He was very happy to know how simple and easy the SV-10 is to use, and also how fast and accurate its measurement, and with such an excellent repeatability of less than 1% of the reading.
He then asked us to measure the different lubricants again, this time without cleaning the sensor plates in between samples. We ourselves were surprised to learn that the measurement results produced were almost the same as those obtained earlier when we cleaned the sensor plates each time.
This measurement involved measuring two lubricants that have a viscosity of 150mPa.s and 320mPa.s at room temperature. The right results were produced, even though the official requirements are to measure the viscosity of lubricants at 40ｰC and 100ｰC.
Mr.Huteau was impressed enough to purchase the SV-10 for his lubricant viscosity measurements. We hope that he and his colleagues can have an easier and speedier measuring life with their new SV-10.
