A&D CIS held conferences for their medical agents on May 24 at the Astoria Hotel in St. Petersburg, and on May 27 at the Marriott Hotel Aurora in Moscow. A total of over 200 pharmacists and dealers from all over Russia and also from Ukraine participated in the conferences.

 

 

This year is the 100th anniversary since Dr. Korotokov announced his method of measuring blood pressure. Because of the centenary celebrations, this time scholarly presentations were given to the participants at the conference. A doctor from the Research Institute of Cardiology in Moscow introduced the association between blood pressure and medicine.

 

 

Another presentation was about the history of blood pressure measuring. These were very academic sessions and most participants were very much impressed by Dr. Korotokov's scientific achievement and huge influence over people's health even today.As you may know, these days there is a big movement occurring in patient treatment.The prevention of disease is becoming more important in many ways. Blood pressure is one of the biggest vital signs available for knowing a patient's condition, so Dr. Korotokov's achievement was considerable. After hearing the presentations, everyone at the seminar understood how important their job was promoting personal blood pressure monitors to local communities.

 

These presentations were very interesting, but in my opinion the presentation that attracted the most attention from the participants was the program about reducing one's weight. After each conference, a lunch reception was held at a glamorous banquet room.At the receptions, pharmacies and distributors were honored for their activities and achievements. During the party, both Russian and Japanese folk dancing were performed to entertain the participants.We enjoyed good food and had lots of fun with our Russian associates.
