Over 600 exhibitors attended this year’s show, including engineering faculty members from several universities, to display a wide range of new and innovative techniques.
It is obvious that parts and components from China, Taiwan and Korea are gaining ground in the US and European markets and more and more visitors from China and India were in attendance this year. These relatively new manufacturers were eagerly asking questions of the exhibitors and visiting a large number of booths.
Both hybrid and diesel engines were on display at this show.

A&D Technology Inc. (ADT), located in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Michigan, had a booth there this year too, and exhibited a wide range of useful technology, including the Combustion Analysis System (CAS), ECU mapping & calibration system (ATLAS), Sound & Vibration analyzer (cWCA) and measuring controller AD-5435 with an optional internal board (timing detection), showing injection & ignition demonstration kit with rotating missing teeth gear.
.
ADT sent three new sales representatives and a new technician to attend the show this year. They joined ADT in April and are all very positive and enthusiastic.

During the show, we received about 20 enquiries, which may not seem like a large number, however they were very promising prospects for the future. Fortunately I was able to introduce ADT’s newcomers to some important Japanese automobile manufacturers’ customers and a couple of them promised to visit ADT’s facilities in Ann Arbor, Detroit to discuss potential business for the future.
The AD-5435 was in particular very popular and drew visitors’ attention because of its dynamic appearance, including a display with virtual console performance and optional boards including a timing detection function with wave forms using a demo-kit of injection, ignition and crank shaft gear with missing teeth.
The cWCA (Compact WCA) also appealed to sensor suppliers and many were very enthusiastic about including our cWCA in their sensor business in the near future because they know and trust both A&D and our WCA history in the States.
A&D is reentering the sound & vibration fields in the US with the newly obtained businesses of DSP based control and powertrain systems.
